Joint Initiative for Latin American Experimental Economics

 Our Approach

  • Identify needs

JILAEE collaborates with public, private, and non-profit institutions in Latin America to identify problems for which economic research can provide answers and existing evidence is scarce. Researchers and stakeholders jointly define research priorities and work together on generating solutions that address the challenges faced by JILAEE partners.

  • Generate evidence

We use insights from behavioral and experimental economics in field experiments to generate evidence that informs policy-makers and advances economic science. JILAEE Working Papers build evidence-based knowledge that helps private and public institutions design programs that contribute to economic and social betterment at scale.

  • Outreach

Building on evidence generated through economic research, JILAEE engages with policy-makers, innovators, and practitioners through policy briefs and a series of events. We also work to bring together researchers within and outside of Latin America with research partners in the region.

Upcoming events.

JILAEE hosts a series of seminars, workshops, and conferences throughout the year. The JILAEE Seminar Series hosts speakers from Argentina as well as researchers based at universities abroad. JILAEE Workshops are targeted at policy-makers and innovators to build research partnerships, and towards graduate students to promote experimental methods in economics research.
